The Istana has remained iconic as the seat of government from the colonial era through independent Singapore and is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Singapore. President SR Nathan commissioned this book to mark the presence of other residents - the native and visiting birds that add an interesting dimension to life on the Estate. This book is richly illustrated by watercolours, crayons and photographs providing a detailed catalogue of 67 bird species sighted over different parts of the Domain.
